It Is A Critical Subject

You have almost completed this semester, so, how do you view Critical Literacy? If you have any comments and suggestions, please do so as it helps for the improvement of the course as a whole.

The time flies very fast, and it is already Week 13 of my Semester 4 right now. It means that my journey towards learning Critical Literacy almost come to an end. So, yeah, the expectation that I hope during the early semester, is not really reach my expectation with the actual reality. I do know now why the seniors called this subject the ‘killer subject’ of this programme. This courses might look easy, but if you didn’t really focus and took it for granted, you will have difficulties to learn and score this subject.

This subject is kind of difficult as it taught you on how to think critically, when it comes to find the elements of an academic book, by using the Rule of 10. You have to know about the credibility of the information provided, including the text, and the writers. Also, you need to have your own stance, whether or not you agree or disagree with the writer’s point of you. If let say you agree with the writer, what’s your arguments, and if you disagree, what’s your arguments.

I thought that that’s it. You only need to think and write. But, no. You have one more complicated task to come, which is the VIVA presentation. For me, I thought that it just an ordinary presentation, but, it is not. Seriously, you need to have a great preparation and lots of reading, in order for you to conduct a good and wonderful presentation.

I didn’t not really have comment on the improvement on this subject, it just that this subject is really difficult, and really critical, if you didn’t really struggle for this subject. You need to think and focus carefully, in order to produce a good quality of critical review. In addition, this subject is very good, because it teaches you on how to make a wise decision, and how to defend your point of view, because somehow, your point are true, but you didn’t know how to defend it , and thus, other person will persuade you to believe the wrong information. As far as we in final week right now, I do hope that I will be succeed in learning this subject, and I do hope that I will get a good scores, and also, will somehow know to learn and think critically.

Stereotyping is exaggerated generalizations associated with a categorizing system they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. Hollywood 'Based On The True Stories'

Proposition: Hollywood produces great movies, but they don’t always tell the truth even it is based on “true stories”. Provide at least two (2) premises AND two (2) counter arguments for the proposition. Write in complete paragraphs. We all like to watch movies, and Hollywood movies are very synonym with the movies industry, as they are the one who are monopolizing the industry.
